Microbrewery Creates Ecto-Cooler Beer

Back in the late 80s, the Ecto-Cooler from Hi-C was the drink of choice for many young geeks. The Ghostbusters-themed juice box featured Slimer as its mascot and was, according to geek folklore, one of the best tasting drink of all time. Some people have tried recreating the Ecto-Cooler, and apparently, the mixture tastes fairly close to the original.

No one has ever tried making an Ecto-Cooler flavored beer though… until now. Thanks to the folks over at the Tired Hands Brewing Company, an Ecto-Cooler beer was served on tap for a very brief period of time at its pub last week, but unfortunately, the casks containing the heavenly drink are now empty. Here’s how the brewery described the beer:

Tart Summer Bier brewed with wheat. Hopped gently with Simcoe and Citra. Soured in the kettle then conditioned on top of nectarine purée. 4.5%
