What happens when the founder of your gaming company is a huge Star Trek fan?
You work in an office shaped like the USS Enterprise, that’s what!
Liu Dejian is the 43-year-old founder of Chinese online game developer NetDragon Websoft, and with the help of his company’s executives — and an investment of $97 million — the dream of working aboard the Enterprise has become a reality (sort of)!
The NetDragon office building is over 280 yards long and is just over 100 yards wide — that translates to the length of almost three football fields and the width of one football field!
The company says building its offices after the Star Trek ship wasn’t their first choice, “because much of it would have to be elevated,” according to the Wall Street Journal. But then the execs say they became inspired after seeing posters for the franchise and decided to build the office “on several columns, as if [the Enterprise Voyager] had landed on the field for repairs.”
