Remember this 2005 Terry Gilliam film starring Matt Damon and Heath Ledger?
(Yeah, I had forgotten, too.)
Well, Miramax has given the go-ahead to turn the movie into a potential TV series. Despite Gilliam reworking Ehren Kruger’s script, Kruger remained the sole screenwriter in the credits. Development is still in the early stages and no network has been announced, but Kruger describes the project like this:
“The original stories the Brothers set out to collect were not for the faint of heart and we’ll be making a show that gets back to those origins and their cautionary, scary, thrilling spirit.”
The Brothers Grimm series will be Kruger’s second foray into TV. He wrote the pilot for Tin Man (2014) for NBC, which never made it to series. He has also written over a dozen movies, including Reindeer Games (meh), The Ring (good), The Ring Two (awful), and the last three Transformer movies (OH GOD).
