We all know that Netflix has made the (successful) push into producing original content, but up until now, it’s all been for adults. Netflix is now working on original children’s programming, and one of the shows they’re working on is The Magic School Bus!
Beginning in 2016, The Magic School Bus 360 will be computer-animated — and modernized. After all, the show initially premiered 20 years ago on PBS. (Yikes!)
According to The Verge:
The bus will be different and fitted with upgraded technology, and the students will gain access to “the latest tech innovations such as robotics, wearables and camera technology.” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, said he hopes it will be the first of many future collaborations between Netflix and Scholastic.
Now, I’m excited about this, but I think we can all agree that it won’t be quite the same if Lily Tomlin isn’t voicing Miss Frizzle.
