SyFy Orders Series Based on Corey’s “The Expanse” Novels

James S.A. Corey is the author of the acclaimed sci-fi series “The Expanse.” Now, SyFy is turning his series — well, the first book — into a 10-episode series.

Academy Award-nominated screenwriting duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man) are writing the script using Leviathan Wakes, the first book in Corey’s series, as their guide.

“A thriller set two hundred years in the future, The Expanse follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.”

SyFy has also renewed Helix for a second season and they will also air a 12 Monkeys TV series, based on the 1995 movie of the same name.

So: Are YOU guys excited about SyFy’s upcoming projects?
