We all know cats have become the superstars of the online humor community. There’s grumpy cat, there’s the gazillion lolcats photos and my personal favourite – cats that look like pinup girls.
However, the fascination and obsession with cats doing rather odd things (like barking!) was not a creation of the World Wide Web. In fact, in 1952-1958, author Ruthven Todd created a children’s book series about the adventures of “Space Cat”. So adorable kitties were being inceptioned into our heads long before we could share silly photos on Facebook.
I hope that cat’s claws were blunted.
