Man Builds Working Tesla Gun

Meet Rob Flickenger, a modern day mad scientist. The man who built a working Tesla Gun. With a grab bag of small electronics, a Tesla coil and and a Nerf Gun, Rob locked himself away in his lair and emerged with a weapon of awesome destruction. Or at least a really cool party favor.

The gun is actually quite dangerous and can cause a shock of 20,000 volts. The build itself was inspired by a weapon from the graphic novel The Five Fists of Science. The gun is actually a collaboration between Rob and some fellow hackerspace friends at the Hazard Factory and Hackerbot Labs.

The build is documented on both his Flickr and in video form.
