Happy Birthday, Neil Patrick Harris! (@ActuallyNPH)

You guys, it’s Neil Patrick Harris’s (@ActuallyNPH) birthday. Let’s take a moment to discuss his continued awesomeness.

We all know NPH  as Doogie Howser, M.D., the tweenage physician with wicked awesome hair, but before that, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Clara’s Heart with Whoopi Goldberg, and of course you remember that he played Billy in Purple People Eater. (No award noms for that one, inexplicably.)

He was born in Albuquerque, NM, on June 15, 1973–which means he’s 38 years old today and looking dead sexy.

Harris’s role as shameless Lothario, Barney Stinson, on How I Met Your Mother earned him Primetime Emmy nods in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Simultaneously, Harris starred as the title role in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, directed by Joss Whedon. (Our other favorite Sexy Geeks, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, also starred in the absolute best-ever web series.)

NPH is also a magician, serving on Board of Directors of Hollywood’s Magic Castle. Here he is performing on Ellen.

In addition to his many TV roles, Harris has starred on Broadway, guest starred in GLEE, hosted SNL, voiced characters in animated movies, and about half a billion other awesome projects. (You can check out a full list here.)

So happy birthday, Neil Patrick Harris–thanks for making the world a funnier and happier place. Sexy geeks love you!
