The Fastest Cars In Pop Culture

It’s no secret that fast cars add an element of thrill to movies—why else would they be working on the eighth Fast and Furious movie?

The famous DeLorean in Back to the Future needed to only reach 88 miles per hour (mph) to activate the flux capacitor, but some of the most memorable cars on the big screen have cruised at speeds well over 100 mph. But all of that speeding comes at a price. For example, did you know it took 13 different Bluesmobiles to create the stunts and car chases (all of them real, by the way) in The Blues Brothers? At the time of its release, the movie set a record for the number of cars crashed in a movie, according to the IMDb.

The cost of the scrapes and crashes behind the scenes is well worth the price; ordinary cars are turned into legends for their famous chase scenes, unbelievable stunts, and of course, top speeds. But some fast cars didn’t need crazy stunts to become legendary: cars like James Bond’s Aston Martin or the Ferrari in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off exude their legendary status right off the bat with sex appeal and utterly cool vibes.

Watching the speedometer needle creep upwards during a thrilling chase scene got us thinking, how fast can these movie cars really go? In the graphic above, jandstransport.com reviews fan favorite vehicles ranked in order by top speed. See if your favorite made the cut and where it ranks.

Fish Lee: When Neurodiversity Meets Humor

Here’s to something a little different… I sometimes write on this page to help out the boyfriend (Editor’s note: That’s me,) and always keep things nice and geeky, but this time, I wanted to open up about my own personal life. My eldest son has been living with Tourette’s. At thirteen years old, it isn’t always an easy task to be different, and since we live in a small community, he is pretty much alone.

Thanks to the wonderful world of the Internet, my mission was to find a way to normalize his situation (not only for him, but for others also), and make it known that his neurodiversity isn’t a hurdle, and that the “showy” part of living with Tourette’s isn’t the norm…

While surfing, I found this amazing artist, Fish Lee, also living with Tourette syndrome, that explains very simply and with much humour what it’s like to live in this world, going through every day normal activities, through the eyes of Tourette’s. He also designed an amazing comic book giving his Superhero and sidekick Tourette’s and ADHD powers.

¸Tick loud and proud, and enjoy a bit of Tourette’s humour and knowledge thanks to Mr Fish Lee, my son’s new hero.

What Does Stan Lee Captain Marvel Cameo Mean?

For those of you who have been lucky enough to go see Captain Marvel, our usual MCU Stan Lee cameo got all the internet buzzing! This time, Stan Lee was Stan Lee, and not his usual random passer-by!

For all you gen X’ers out there, you might remember a little movie called Mallrats (pictured above,) from incredible director Kevin Smith, an admitted comic book geek… In this movie, Stan Lee plays himself, bumping into Brodie in front of a lingerie store. In Captain Marvel, his cameo happens to be him, reading his lines for Mallrats and winking to Claire, somehow opening more questions towards the theory that he is actually a Watcher.

So what is to be expected in the long run? Bluntman and Chronic saving the world in Endgame 😉? Or a Star Lord, Jay and Silent Bob meet-up? (Wait, that last one actually sounds like a good idea…)

What is the Difference Between Bees, Wasps, and Hornets?

There are many similarities and differences between our little wing-whipping friends. For starters, all can sting you. That said, you may derive some solace in the fact that when certain of them sting humans, they die- not so when they sting many other animals. The barbed stingers on honey bees particularly end up getting lodged in our soft flesh, ripping out their backsides when they try and get away after stinging you. When they sting most animals, this doesn’t happen.
