We all know the story: Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable old miser who hates Christmas, gets visited by three ghosts, sees the consequences of his miserable existence, and wakes up the next morning suddenly obsessed with turkey and giving money to everyone.
But what if there’s a lot more to Scrooge’s story than Dickens told us?
The new trailer for Ebenezer gives the classic Christmas tale a darker twist, with Johnny Depp taking on the iconic role. Set in Dickens’ London, the movie follows Scrooge on a ghostly journey through his past, present and future as he confronts the choices that shaped him and fights for one last chance at redemption.
With Ian McKellen, Rupert Grint and Sam Claflin joining Depp, this definitely isn’t your grandma’s A Christmas Carol.
