For the 100th anniversary of Claude Monet’s passing, Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang put on an incredible daytime show above the Seine in Vernon, France, using 1,000 drones, colorful smoke, and fireworks.
In front of 15,000 people, scenes inspired by some of Monet’s most famous paintings, including Haystacks, Woman with a Parasol, and Poppy Field, appeared over the river before fading away and transforming into something new.
It’s part art show, part fireworks display, part technological magic… and the footage is absolutely beautiful.
