Forget Raspberry Pis, mini PCs, and laptops. Someone looked at a walnut and thought, “You know what this needs? Windows XP.”
And instead of immediately questioning that decision, Dr. Kun Dániel spent hundreds of hours turning the walnut into a fully functional computer with a tiny screen, five-button keyboard, USB-C port, and an actual operating system.
Everything starts with a real walnut, which gets completely hollowed out and sanded until the two halves fit together perfectly. He then scans the shell, designs a custom internal frame, and 3D-prints the central structure that holds everything together.
Then comes the truly ridiculous part: squeezing the electronics inside. After hundreds of hours of tiny soldering and precision engineering, it’s time for the big test: booting Windows XP… which actually succeeds!
And yes, this little NutPad can run games. There’s Snake, Doodle Jump, the Google Dinosaur game, Tetris, and even a few other classics. GTA 6, unfortunately, remains slightly beyond the walnut’s capabilities.
