The latest Honest Trailer for Masters of the Universe has arrived, and Screen Junkies does what Screen Junkies does best: lovingly roast absolutely everything.
From “Gym Bro Skeletor” and Eternia’s hilariously dumb character names (Fisto? Ram Man? Moss Man? Seriously?) to the movie’s shameless attempts to weaponize Gen X and Millennial nostalgia, nobody escapes the snark. According to the trailer, it’s basically a two-hour toy commercial starring people who peaked in the action figure aisle at Toys “R” Us… and honestly? They’re not entirely wrong.
The funniest part? Even after spending several minutes tearing the movie to shreds, they accidentally remind you that it’s actually kind of a blast. Bright colors, big action, cheesy one-liners, over-the-top villains, and enough fan service to make Prince Adam blush.
And that’s pretty much where we landed too. In our review, we gave Masters of the Universe 8/10, praising it as a fun, nostalgia-fueled adventure that embraces everything fans loved about the original cartoon. Sure, it’s cheesy, but that’s part of the charm. Sometimes you don’t need an Oscar contender. Sometimes you just need He-Man yelling “By the Power of Grayskull!” while Skeletor chews every piece of scenery in sight.
