Ladies and Gentlegeeks, The Force is about to roll for initiative.
In what might be the most dangerously nerdy crossover ever conceived, Star Wars and Dungeons & Dragons are officially teaming up for a collaboration coming in 2027. That’s right: lightsabers, dragons, droids, wizards, Sith, rogues, and probably at least one player who insists on seducing a Wookiee.
Details are almost nonexistent for now. All Wizards of the Coast has revealed is that a “Dungeons & Dragons | Star Wars” collaboration will arrive during the Season of Rebellion in 2027. And honestly? Those four words are enough to send tabletop fans into hyperspace.
Will the Force replace magic? Will your party include a Jedi, a smuggler, and a very confused bard? Will Darth Vader be the final boss… or just the dungeon master who says, “You can certainly try”?
We have absolutely no idea. But after years of fan dreams and homebrew campaigns, this is finally becoming official. Now if you’ll excuse us, we need to start practicing our best Obi-Wan voice while rolling a natural 20.
Until we learn more, we’ll be over here wondering whether we’ll be rolling d20s to dodge blaster fire, casting Force-powered spells, or watching a bard somehow convince Darth Vader to join the party. Stranger campaigns have happened.
