This Semi-Automatic Potato Cannon Is the Most Gloriously Overengineered Spud Launcher Ever

Humanity has cured diseases, landed on the Moon, and built supercomputers, but the true pinnacle of engineering might just be a belt-fed semi-automatic potato cannon. Priorities.

YouTuber Current Concept set out to build the holy grail of backyard engineering: a potato cannon that automatically reloads itself after every shot. The result is a gloriously overcomplicated masterpiece of compressed air, 3D-printed parts, belts, gears, and just enough unpredictability to keep things interesting. It doesn’t quite achieve full-auto glory yet, but version 1.0 is already very impressive and surprisingly effective.

Between exploding potatoes, accidental mishaps, and a healthy dose of self-aware humor, this is exactly the kind of engineering project the internet was invented for. Part 2 is already in the works, and we can’t wait to see just how absurdly powerful this thing becomes.
