Spider-Noir Reveals Its Villains in New Footage, and It’s Got My Attention!

Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir Featurette

Sony and MGM just released a new Spider-Noir featurette, and I’m trying very hard not to get too excited… but it’s not working!

This first real look leans hard into the series’ rogues gallery, and everything about it feels pulled straight out of a smoky, rain-soaked detective novel. Sandman, Tombstone, Silvermane, and even Megawatt all show up, reimagined for a 1930s crime world that looks rough, grounded, and just a little bit hopeless. No flashy superhero polish here, just bad people doing bad things in dimly lit rooms.

And then there’s Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, or rather, just The Spider. The footage makes it pretty clear this isn’t your usual Spider-Man story. He feels more like a tired private investigator than a costumed hero, someone dragged back into the mask by circumstances rather than choice.

I love how committed this all looks to the noir tone. At the same time, that’s exactly the kind of thing that can either be incredible or fall flat if it doesn’t fully land. So yeah, I’m cautiously excited, but between the cast, the atmosphere, and the fact that we get to hear Cage doing his Spider-Noir thing again, it’s getting harder not to buy in.

Spider-Noir hits MGM+ on May 25, 2026, and I’ll definitely be watching, just trying not to get my hopes too high… yet.
