Somewhere out there, someone looked at Hungry Hungry Hippos and thought, “Yeah… why wouldn’t we turn this into a movie?”

The first trailer for Hungry just dropped, and it fully commits to the spirit of the game: a massive, rage-fueled hippo turning a Louisiana swamp tour into an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Directed by James Nunn (not to be confused with James Gunn, who probably would’ve given the hippo a mixtape and a sarcastic sidekick,) the movie plays it completely straight, which somehow makes it even funnier. No jokes, no self-awareness, just a bunch of people realizing way too late that they’ve become part of the food chain.
