Amazon MGM Studios and Warner Bros. have just released a new trailer for Project Hail Mary, Andy Weir’s next big leap into smart, character-driven sci-fi. Starring Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, the film follows a molecular biologist who wakes up alone aboard a mysterious spacecraft near Tau Ceti with no memory of who he is or why he’s there.

Grace soon discovers that he was part of a desperate mission to save Earth from extinction. But he isn’t entirely alone. The trailer gives fans their clearest look yet at Rocky, an alien engineer whose own star system is facing the same threat.
