Long before Candy Crush and Wordle, people had real problems… like how to connect three houses to three fountains without crossing any pipes or going around a wall. Yes, this hydraulic headache from The Magician’s Own Book (1857) is the OG of rage puzzles.

The Fountain Puzzle

Here’s the deal: You’ve got three fountains (E, F, G), three houses (B, C, D), and a wall (A). You have to connect (with pipes) fountain E to house D, fountain G to house B, and fountain F to house C. Naturally, pipes cannot cross one another or pass outside the wall.
