Before the suave tuxedos, before the shaken martinis, and way before the license to kill, there was just a very dangerous man with a lot to prove.

Unveiled during Sony’s latest State of Play, IO Interactive (the masterminds behind Hitman) dropped the first trailer for 007: First Light, a bold and gritty James Bond origin story set to hit PlayStation 5 in 2026.

This isn’t your father’s Bond. This new take gives us a younger, rawer 007, still unpolished, but already showing flashes of the deadly charm to come. He’s not modeled after any specific film actor, but fans will recognize subtle echoes of the Bonds of old.

Gameplay-wise, Hitman fans will feel right at home. Expect stealthy takedowns, clever gadget use, and stylish problem-solving – only this time with an Aston Martin and a license to maybe kill. Oh, and yes, the trailer delivers a full-throttle car chase that proves IO isn’t afraid to trade fiber wire for horsepower.

Cinematic set pieces? Check. Intrigue and espionage? You bet. And yes, the Bond Girls are already making their mysterious entrance.
