Before TikTok trends, before 4K, before YouTube had ads every 3 seconds, there was Human Skateboard. And it still rules.
Created by stop-motion genius PES 17 years ago (yes, back when dinosaurs roamed MySpace), this short video shows a guy riding his friend like an actual skateboard. We’re talking ollies, grinds, 360s — complete with skate sounds and animation smoother than an animated GIF on dial-up.
It was shot entirely in-camera with a Canon D20, took six weeks, and required the actors to freeze like mannequins for thousands of frames. The result? Pure stop-motion sorcery that somehow still looks better than half the internet today. Check it out!
