Freddie Wong’s RocketJump is… Back? We’re All Gonna Die! [Trailer]

WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE

After six long years of radio silence, RocketJump—the powerhouse behind some of YouTube’s most legendary VFX-driven shorts—is making a triumphant return! Freddie Wong and his team are back with We’re All Gonna Die, a self-financed, independently owned film set to release exactly 15 years after Real-Life Portal Gun, one of the company’s earliest videos, first hit YouTube.

This new sci-fi adventure takes place in a world where a 10,000-mile-tall floating alien tentacle—known as the Spike—has loomed over Earth for years. Society has adjusted, but when the Spike unexpectedly teleports a struggling beekeeper’s hives and a grieving wanderer’s prized car across the country, the two must team up for a wild road trip through a changed, yet strangely familiar, America.

Wong calls this film an experiment—one that echoes RocketJump’s early YouTube days, when he and Brandon Laatsch built an audience through VFX-packed genre mashups, gamer humor, and parodies. Now, 15 years later, he hopes to keep pushing creative boundaries for another decade and a half.

Hitting theaters on March 7th! Check the official website for a list of screening locations, with more theaters being added as the release date gets closer.
