How the Heart Actually Pumps Blood [Science Video]

For most of history, scientists weren’t quite sure why our hearts were beating or even what purpose they served. 1. “Only those who end up studying medicine completely understand how it all actually works.” – whoa, really? I don’t think so. Neither that those who study medicine understand ‘completely’ (down to the intracellular, organelle and biochemical levels) nor that those who don’t study medicine have no chance of a biomechanical understanding of the heart.
