The Television Critics Association has an annual press tour, and on Friday, CW shows were discussed, and The Flash was among them.
Executive producers assured the crowd that the problems that arise in The Flash, which will take place in Central City, will “mainly be separate from the crime-riddled Starling City in Arrow.” That being said, both shows are planning 2-hour crossover events with their respective eighth episodes, and Arrow‘s Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Richards, will appear in the fourth episode of The Flash.
The announcement of a famous villain in The Flash canon also has made headlines: Wentworth Miller, who starred in FOX’s Prison Break, will play Leonard Snart — a.k.a. Captain Cold — in the fourth episode, as well.
And in case you haven’t heard:
Adding to the casting news, Robbie Amell (cousin of Arrow‘s Stephen, and star of canceled The Tomorrow People) will play Caitlin Snow’s (Danielle Panabaker) fiancé, Ronnie Raymond. And as a special nod to all Allen fans, John Wesley Shipp, who played The Flash in an earlier adaptation, is back in a recurring role as Barry’s dad.
