SyFy to Air “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge” Competition Series

First, there was Face Off. Now, SyFy is hoping to create the more magic — and jobs — with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge.

Brian Henson, chairman of The Jim Henson Co. and Creature Shop and son of the late Jim Henson, will serve as head judge in the 8-episode series. Each episode, “10 contestants will [be] competing to build mechanical characters and whimsical beasts and bringing high-end inanimate creature designs to life,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. They will be mentored by fellow Creature Shop designers, masters, and specialists.

Henson Co. Chairman Brian Henson, son of the late Jim Henson, will be the lead judge on the new SyFy show.

The winner will receive $100,000 and a job at the Henson Co. and Creature Shop.

Just like Miss Piggy, I’m totally tickled pink for this series, which will premiere in early 2014.
