Ron Burgundy (Anchorman) Sells Dodge Durangos in New Ad Campaign [Videos]

Will Ferrell-as-Ron Burgundy appears in not one, not two, but SIX new commercials for the 2014 Dodge Durango.

The spots are humorous, no doubt, but I have mixed feelings: It’s a clever campaign, and selling American cars on TV for money is something the character of Ron Burgundy would totally do, but at the same time, the movie stands — and sells — itself on its own merits. Have these ads crossed into “sellout” territory?

What do you think??

  1. They’re funny though, and pleasantly surprising (our whole family sat enraptured when we saw the first one on NBC last night). I feel like for something to count as “selling out” it has to be an unsuccessful ploy to shamelessly make more money. If Anchorman 2 is going to make money anyway, then they’re just doing it for shits and giggles. Don’t you respect shits and giggles? I respect shits and giggles, ma’am.

  2. Ahahahaha I don’t watch TV so these could be more irritating if I saw them a few hundred times per day, but just watching them now and they’re hilarious and I less-than-three them completely.
