Fan Film “Red Sand” Brings New Life to the Mass Effect World

Set 35 years before Commander Shepard makes his debut, this fan produced trailer from students and faculty at the Tempe, AZ University of Advance Technology brings a new depth to the world of Mass Effect. The story focuses on a team of Alliance scientists who discover ancient Prothean ruins on Mars. With the Ruins, the team also finds a cache of refined  Element Zero, a huge power source in the world of Mass Effect, but one that can be altered and turned into the drug “Red Sand.” The scientists, along with a team of Alliance soldiers lead by Colonel Jon Grissom (played by the voice of Commander Shepard himself, Mark Meer) face off against bandits who would take the Red Sand for themselves.

Thrilling visuals, haunting music and a must-watch for any fan of the video game series.
