China’s Restaurant Robots (It has begun!) [Pics]

In Harbin, China, a new restaurant has opened and it is “manned” entirely by robots (18 in all).

From host to chef to waiter, every job is done by a robot (& conveyor belts).

The restaurant cost about $797,000 (U.S.) to build, as each robot costs around $32,000. Each robot works a 5-hour shift and thenĀ  must be charged for 2 hours before resuming work.

Believe it or not, the food is affordable, with most items costing around $7.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: THERE ARE ROBOTS THAT SERENADE YOU WHILE YOU EAT.

So, tell us: Would you eat there? Would you like a restaurant like that in *your*country or state?

  1. Thanks for providing more information about the actual name, location, something useful to know about the company perhaps? Guess you took an arrow to the knee OP.
