I wonder what is taking up that space. Probably nuclear launch codes or porn or something…
My grandpa brought one of the platters from one of these home from work when my mom was a kid… she now uses it as a lawn ornament. :)
You are wrong, assuming this would be a fixed disk. This is the magnetic drum storage of the Zuse Z22. This was the first really programmable computer. It was installed at the Technical Highscool at Karlsruhe, Germany. I worked on this computer 1962 and used it for chemical analysis computing and math problems. One of it is published in the book "Algol Praktikum" of Prof.Nickel.
