What about posting it to usenet so they can download it with a newsreader … nevermind.
I love how the ones with no technical expertise in Computer Science, is ridiculing their own kind.
"Uploading" and "Downloading" is a dumbed down concept, of that fact that we are streaming BYTE packets constantly, until the SOCKET stream has been closed, of course :-)
There's Protocols that make this possible. And people are overlooking these things. Sending Terra bytes of DATA from one client to another Client destination, is nothing "difficult", certainly not in the ages we live in. Although, it DOES require a high bandwidth..And the space, which very few of us have.
How can anyone answer the question about the FTP-server with no? Sitting in front of a computer connected to the Internet of course one has a FTP-server, it just needs to be configured correctly.
I love how easy it is to predict the nature of comments on a blog such as this. All the resident geeks attempting to one-up each other with their technical knowledge. As someone who has studied the function of different networking protocols and their packet structures (e.g. TCP/IP, FTP, TFTP, OSPF, IGRP/EIGRP, ARP/RARP, CSMA/CD, etc..) I find it humorous. Anyway, carry on…
