GROSS: When was the last time you cleaned your keyboard? [Picture]

Now that is one seriously disgusting keyboard. When was the last time you took your keyboard apart so you could remove all the dust, bread crumbs, and other unspeakable horrors from there?

  1. Mine was about as gross as this keyboard (my laptop is 1,5 years old). I took it apart on the train 2 weeks ago, resulting in a half-broken g button

  2. You think that's bad, you should see the inside of a computer tower I had to clean yesterday… belonged to a smoker and the amount of crap (and the smell) that came out of there was enough to make a grown man nauseous.

  4. Cleaned mine last week, I've got the Saitek Eclipse keyboard which was designed to be taken apart every so often for cleaning. It's easy and quite fun actually & only takes about half an hour :) I wouldn't recommend buying a new keyboard every year just cause you can't be assed to clean it.. very wasteful.

  5. Someone owns a few cats. LOL

On the upside, it mutes the keys during late night cyber sexxions so that the parental units don't get suspicious.

  6. yeah. obviously the person who owns this keyboard owns cats and has had that keyboard for quite a while. so cat hair + dust + crumbs + body oils + some human hair. gross… and there's a way of popping the keys off. if you just ram a screw driver under the key and pop it off it can go pretty far, so put your hand on top. @Eric not everyone owns a cheap keyboard so maintaining it is worth while. buying something new rather than cleaning it or making a very easy repair is lazy and wasteful.
