  1. For the full effect, you should zoom the image 'till it fits on your screen entirely (firefox/chrome: cmd/right-click open image in new tab). It is unreadable then, but you can see the scale of the sizes very well then.

  2. As amazingly deep as the oceans are and incredibly tall the mountains are, if the earth were a bowling ball it would be smoother than the average one you find at your local bowling alley!

    • I think they are just wanting to show the difference that altitude makes when boiling an egg. I happen to find this particular tidbit fascinating. Takes 3-1/2 minutes to boil an egg at the top of the Empire State Building vs over 18 minutes at the top of Mount Everest. Kewl….

      I am truly obsessed with this graphic. It makes me kinda tingly, lol.

  5. is not that there isnt enough oxygen to support Human life… it is that at that altitude the parcial pressure of oxygen is very low…
