Mac, PC, Zombie [Comic]

Ok, I can’t fully agree with what this comic is portraying (I just bought a Mac,) but it still made me smile.

Thanks Marc!

  1. As the antagonist to Timmers I'm going to non-saracastically say: I literally laughed out loud. Quality post guys, thanks.

  3. Simple : zombies eat braiiiiins. And this zombie doesn't eat the Mac. It means Apple-fanboys don't have braiiiiins. :D

    I love it !

  7. Oh, you silly Windows users aren't understanding the true meaning of this cartoon! You need to know some basic facts about computers and zombies. First of all, there are many forms of Zombism, this form of Zombism, as depicted in this cartoon, is obviously a virus. Now, as we all clearly know, most viruses are not compatible with a Mac. Thus, the true meaning is, "Macs don't get viruses and protect users from Zombies." Truly, this cartoon inspires all of us to buy Apple computers. And thats just what I'm going to do! Seriously. I need a new laptop for college.

    • Voraka, that would ALMOST work. Except for the last frame. When the Mac feels left out.

PC's rule. Especially those without windows.

      • Did he say he felt left out? Why of course not! He said, "Hey!" The Mac was shouting at the zombie for killing the PC! The Mac computer, although much better than the PC, still felt sorry for the PC.

The true essence of all that is good: "Being upset when a zombie murders your enemy." However much Mac and PC hate each other, Mac shows here his sorrow at the demise of PC. Does this mean that I'm saying Apple is the essence of all that is good in the world? No, no, no, it is not I who says this, it is this cartoon that says Apple is all that is good in the world. I am merely agreeing.

    • Voraka dude… I haven't used Mac. But according to the joke, the zombie says "brains". That picture has zero relevance if the joke is understood ur way. So, since there is a frame that says "brains", the joke is about PC having brain and Mac not havin it :D

        • I admire your spunk and ingenuity in these creative explanations. But I would like to direct you to the posture of Mac in that last frame. His arms are down, indicating slumped shoulders. If her were righteously angry, his shoulders would still be up.

Again, mad props for the attempt. But no.

        • Darn it, I wish you could edit comments. It should be, "If he were righteously angry." I apologize to all of the grammar guru geeks out there.

      • You do know PC stands for personal computer right… No matter what OS it runs on it's a PC. A PC without windows could very well be a Mac. So if you're trying to insult Macs… You sir, fail.

        • Please don't assume that every geek is a "sir." I happen to be a "miss."

For the purposes of most arguements, "Mac vs. PC" means "Apple vs. Everyone Else." This is an accepted truth that would be allowable in a judged forensics debate. I know because I've used it in a judged forensics debate.

By trying to be a smart*butt*, you've utterly failed to just accept the humor of the arguement. It's all in fun.

    • actually, there are about the same amount of viruses per computer for Macs as there are for PCs. there are just so many more PCs, that those who make viruses, tend to make them for PCs.

in addition, viruses for Macs tend to do more damage, because there aren’t as many good anti-virus programs for Macs.

      • Um…. no. According to Symantec, there are well over one million computer virii for Windows systems at this time with only a few thousand in active circulation, versus those for Mac being ONE, which only worked as a trojan through the iChat communication app back in 2006 and won't work on current OS X builds.

Please do a little research before making claims that are verifiably false. Thanks.

        • Actually, you could use some verification as well. The virus to which you are referring was the first virus for the operating system you mentioned. It was not the last. Nor was it the first for Macs in general. I believe I am correct in thinking that there was one in '94, '95, '98, and I want to say there was one in 2000 or 2001, as well.

I'm not sure which of these it was, but there was a Mac virus that crashed quite a few computers, and would have done less damage if mac users had never thought they were completely safe.

Anyone who is prepared can escape viruses. That goes for Mac and PC, and if you're using a Symantec product… Well, good luck, my friend.

    • I have to agree with the others.. you are reaching…i especialy like the comment pointing out that the zombie says brains in the cartoon…and the comment about how mac doesn't look very upset about his friend.. more like dissed…but all in all I never really found many of these comparisons funny no matter who was being made fun of, cause like another comment PC=Personal Computer and most of the ads are dissing microsoft… so yet again sorry aplle no brains..shoulda said "Windows Computer" in some way, not PC dumbasses!

  9. hahahahaha, those poor mac people, i don't know how Steve Jobs manages to brainwash them in the light of this cartoon, hahahahaha, lol.

  11. I lol'd to this, and the posts above, and yes the cartoon depicts the average users state of mind or lack thereof. The reason a lot of people buy macs is because they are told it is what they should buy, that or it looks shiny(which is another thing that foolish people consider to be a good buying point).

  13. Great thing is this mocks Mac users but they think it's a compliment.

Nuff Said. (About reasons that people buy Macs, that and iMovie)

  14. Laughing are those who don't have a Mac, that is, cannot AFFORD it. I often notice that a very common reaction of PC guys toward Mac users is jealousy covered under brain-jokes. Mac users usually don't judge PC people according to IQ, it's either you have money to afford Mac, or you don't.

    • Seriously?
What's the point of a mac nowadays?
Is it streamlined? Not if you're doing more than checking email.
Does it protect you from viruses? Sure, but any moron with a PC can go a lifetime without getting one.
Is it pretty? Yeah, but so is a ridiculously pimped out Alienware computer. Which, by the way, is quite a bit more expensive than Macs.
Mac users are snide, pretentious assholes.
PC users are snide, pretentious assholes.
I fail to see where the money issue comes in? Anyone with any sense will buy an expensive PC and upgrade it as needed, instead of buying an all-in-one machine that you have to toss out the window every two years.
Grow up. And leave the apple store once in awhile.

    • I often notice how Mac fan boys think they have it all figured out and must desperately grasp at superiority with arguments such as money, or viruses. Just because it costs more doesn't mean it's better. It just means Apple is raping you of your money for the same quality a PC user could get for less, hence proving your lesser intellect. As for the viruses, anyone with some common sense and a bit of computer know how can go without getting a virus. I haven't had a anti-virus in years and still have yet gotten a virus. Its those without common sense enough to avoid getting a virus that turn to Mac for this reason. I'm not downing Macs. If you like them great. But these points are invalid argument for them being "better." Don't be a dick.

  15. Just as advertised…Macs are less vulnerable to viruses that can turn them into zombies used in Net based attacks….also notice the 'brain' of the PC was 'taken' and 'consumed' the way a hacker would.

And yeah, I give the inference that Macs are 'brainless' ZERO credence dweebs!

      • I'd be interested in seeing your source for number of infections per machine, as my Google search on the topic turned up dry.

What I can provide is a bit of personal experience: I have five years experience as a Macintosh sys admin, plus twenty years as a Mac user, and I've seen one person's Mac get a virus in all that time. Despite mostly ignoring Windows in the same time frame, hearing of an infected Windows box (including the occasional nasty outbreak in the Windows side of the student labs we supported) was a common occurrence.

  16. The cartoon made me (a long-time Mac user) LOL. Some of the disinformation being spouted in the comments, on the other hand…

  17. Oh geesh. No wonder you geeks complain about feeling socially awkward and isolated – it's not because of your intelligence or interests, though. It's because you take silly little things (like this cartoon, for example), obsess about them, nitpick them apart, and turn them into World War III. For heaven's sake – just enjoy life for a few days, people. Everything is not an argument waiting to happen!

  18. 1) There is not an inherent joke. There is no caption stating the author's intent. Therefore, any and al interpretations that fir thus far could be correct.

    2) The pointless chest beating will have no resolution, as fanboys of both systems have no brains. The state of being a fanboy prevents rational thought. Only by looking at all the facts can one reach a logical solution, which is something a fanboy cannot do.

    3) For example, here's an interpretation: The zombie apocalyse has begun, the zombie feasts on the PC because he is closer, then leaves as he is sated. The Mac says "Hey" out of indignation and surprise, saddened by the death of his rival and worried about the future repercussions.

  19. Its just a joke. Im a Mac user and i prefer mac because of the way it works.. thats all. I find it easy to use. And my mother recently bought a macbook, she could not understand her PC for many many years but within a few months she understood mac. this is not to say mac is for stupid people, just that it works the way it should.. as my mum puts it – its the way technology should be.
as for viruses, i used to be a bit of a pc geek, and i understood how Not to get a virus, but every pc i have ever owned and any pc anyone i know has owned, has had viruses, eventually corrupting the whole pc. this has never happened to any mac i have seen.
plus mac is so much better for arty people.
(only pc thing is its better for gaming, but im not a gamer.)
