Transparent OLED Laptop Display

I just received a link to a youtube video from an anonymous tipper showing a laptop featured at CES 2010 with a transparent screen. While the concept looks extremely cool, I’m not exactly sure how practical something like this would be in everyday use. Please check out the video and let us know your thoughts.

  1. The display at the moment is simply not as see-thru as it would have to be to use for car windshields. Plus, it’s expensive enough to replace a normal winshield without this tech in the glass.
I’m not sure what they could use it in, but I’m very excited to see the laundry list of things they try to put it in.

  3. Obviously enough this would be perfect for a HUD (heads up display) to be used in aircraft, automobiles, even residential windows (although I wouldnt know why). It’s waaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive to used by everyday people right now and will continue to be for quite some time. Perhaps with the passage of time and more mainstream usage we will see something like this in the windshield of the future.
