For today’s edition of deal of the day, Amazon.com has the Motorola DROID A855 for just $149.99 (with a 2-year service plan). Please note that Verizon currently offers the phone for $199.99 under the same conditions. And if you get the DROID before December 11th, Verizon offers an activation-fee credit of up to $35 for each qualifying line of service activated on a new two-year individual or family plan account purchased from Amazon.com.

The first Android-powered phone for Verizon Wireless, the 3G-enabled Motorola DROID smartphone offers a full package of powerful mobile connectivity–from easy access to all your social networks and viewing of full Web sites to spoken turn-by-turn directions thanks to the new Google Maps with Navigation Beta app. One of the thinnest full-QWERTY slider phones available, the Motorola DROID also features a high-resolution 3.7-inch touchscreen display and a virtual onscreen keyboard that auto-rotates depending on the phone’s orientation. And you’ll be able to capture high-resolution images and DVD-quality videos on the go with its 5-megapixel camera with flash.

  1. Even as I like a physical keyboard, after dealing with the Samsung Captivate for approximately 15 minutes, it is laborious to move back. At this time I am debating whether or not to visit Verizon for the Droid X, go to Sprint for the EVO, or stay with AT&T for the Captivate…selections, decisions.
