PC Repairmen Cannot be Trusted!

Well, I’m not saying ALL PC Repairmen are evil bastards, but after looking at the following video, it certainly looks so! Fortunately, I know of several computer technicians who are very honest, so if you need your computer fixed, don’t lose hope! I, for instance, have been doing computer service for the past 10 years on evenings and during the weekends and have never done something like this.

  1. I worked a laptop repair shop down in texas for a while. id have to say that not only is that company honest, but they pride themselves on it and because of their unique business model, make good money at what they do. With that said when you fill out a repair ticket, be sure to read the store policies etc etc, some companies will throw in sneaky things so they can get away with stuff like that. also NEVER go in with a snobby or negative attitude. be understanding that us techs have to deal with a lot of idiots, and although you may not be one, we have to treat you as if you don't know anything about a computer, its a loose loose battle for us. but having a bad attitude will defiantly get you double the original cost or worse. Ive been guilty of price inflating, but only when a customer is just downright belligerent. its very hard to find a repair shop you can trust. even the ones that you can trust can sometimes slip, it takes more self control than you can imagine to check out the pix on that one cute girls computer ha ha. also if the guys wasn't completely stupid to begin with, they would have been able to know within minutes if there is any surveillance software running.

besides, isn't that what live Cd's are for? haha.

generally i never have to boot into the os anyways, once to check the problem out and once to fix the problem, i have created my own little geeksquad MRI type disc.

although that company was good and i loved working with them (their name is laptopsforless – http://laptopsforless.us/ ) i have decided to venture off and create my own repair business centered around their same values and business model. it would be nice to have more business like that company.
