Following on the heels of Jonathan-C. Phillips, I have been asked if I would like to contribute to [GAS]! Feeling honored, I of course accepted…thank you, Kiltak! I will try to offer a hint of my somewhat humorous nature when I post about new technology & software. Of course, at the same time hopefully giving you something to discuss in the comments.
I have been working in the IT field for the last 13 years, starting at a mom & pop computer store in Davenport, IA, and then contracting on site for six years as a third-level desktop support technician at a major manufacturer in Moline, IL. After meeting my future wife, I moved to the Rockford, IL area (about 60 miles west of Chicago), and began my network administration life.
I have a great interest in the cool & geeky, and as such, this blog has been one of my favorites! I also contribute to Daily Cup of Tech, I run my own blog about free software, Confessions of a Freeware Junkie, in addition to running a site dedicated to administration scripting and WSUS tools at VBSHF.com.
I was given an Microsoft MVP award last year for my work with Software Update Services (WSUS), in addition, I co-moderate http://www.wsus.info (although I’ve been scarce there lately!).
My wife Lindsay and I had our first child, Kathryn in February (she sleeps from 9pm to 9am!). I enjoy working on the house, and spending time with my wife and daughter. In addition, I like to produce electronic music and play the occasional round of “can you find the little white ball in the woods?” with my friends.
Ok, enough about me! Lets get our “tech on!”
