After a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, director Rob Thomas was able to make millions of fans dream come true. The story about a teenage detective and the mysteries in Neptune, CA was a huge hit when it aired, but was cancelled after three seasons. Thomas wrote a feature film script afterwards, but Warner Bros. didn’t option to pick it up. Years later, Thomas took to the Internet to bring his project back to life and raised over 5.5-million dollars through crowd sourcing.
