NASA Captures X-Ray Image of “The Hand of Iron Man” [Pic]

Well, they didn’t exactly name it “The Hand of Iron Man,” but rather “The Hand of God.” However, we here at Geeks are Sexy vastly prefer “The Hand of Iron Man” because that’s exactly what the picture looks like.

Can you see the shape of a hand in this new X-ray image? The hand might look like an X-ray from the doctor’s office, but it is actually a cloud of material ejected from a star that exploded. NASA’s Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR, has imaged the structure in high-energy X-rays for the first time, shown in blue. Lower-energy X-ray light previously detected by NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory is shown in green and red.

  1. This photo is color edited to be red, yellow, and blue. This is a photo of an X-ray star cluster that only emits at X-ray frequencies. An excellent work of photography in my opinion.
