Yeah, but until the 90s, cell phones were HUGE and (by today’s standards) pretty unwieldy! The first clamshell didn’t arrive until the mid-1990s.

Why is Steve Jobs or Apple always getting the spotlight for the so called “first tablet pc”? It was Microsoft that came out with one first back in 2002. As much as I dislike Microsoft, credit due where credit deserved.
Nope. There were tablets before Microsoft started pushing them with Windows Tablet PC, that had Windows on it. They weren’t pretty, they didn’t work all that well, but they ran Windows and its entire software library.
