How to Skip Annoying Mandatory Trailers and Ads on DVDs

----------------

stop-stop-play

If stop -> stop -> play doesn’t work with certain discs, try stop -> stop -> stop -> play. Sure, this trick doesn’t always work, but when it does, it can save you a few minutes where you would usually just sit in front of the TV doing nothing.

    • I find the opposite, most the DVDs I’ve watched recently will just go NOPE if I press the menu button or try to skip. That is after all what this article is about; mandatory tailors and ads, i.e. the ones which refuse skipping or menu button (this is a site advertised as a geek site, we’re not inept you know)

I find that it works to just watch them in VLC media player if I don’t mind it not being on the TV (or maybe try to unearth my HDMI cable so I can hook it up) since that wonderful program doesn’t listen to the mandatory notice. Lovely little program, and very versatile.
