Sorry, not saying there isn’t any effort being made here, but i don’t really get why anyone would “cosplay” someone who just looks like a fashion choice rather than a costume of sorts. She does looks amazing.
So what is a Hilda costume supposed to look like other than this???
Yeah, it’s not a complicated look, but she does look very believably like the character she’s portraying. Also take into account the hairstyle and the slightly anime look of the eyes (how the eyelashes are drawn lower to create the illusion of larger eyes, but not so much that they look inhuman). Some people may not appreciate the subtleties of makeup, but it does take effort to make things look natural.
I totaly agree with everything you said, though the point i’m making is she could easily walk down a street and the vast majority wouldn’t consider she was wearing a costume.
My suggestion is choose a charater that isn’t wearing normal everyday clothes, also there’s actully a lot more she could do if she really wanted a costume that looked more like the anime version (the “real doll” look for example). She may have been going for a more natural style and it is good, i would just like to see her do more to show she is a charater.
kaos – but that’s not why people cosplay. they cosplay because a character resonates with them, and they wish to, to some degree, externalize that…not simply show off wings, lasers, or body paint.
cosplay is personal, for the cosplayer – if you, as a person seeing them, digs it, thats cool, but its not the primary intent.
Wow this cosplay thing is easy.
wow, i can wear normal clothes and put on a pokemon hat…. who knew cosplaying was so simple!
link please.
Look up the character guys… you’ll see, it’s cosplay.
You are far too kind to those knuckleheads. She’s spot-on!
