Wow! $150 for a 256MB flash drive! What an unbelievable deal!
I regularly take photos that are larger than the size of my first hard drive…
I don’t remember 512mb flashdrive ever costing $159.95, they were like 20 when they came out, and even if it did I doubt it would be on the same page and year that a 40 gig hard drive costs $269.95.
I remember them being at that price in the early 2000s…..
Some people just have terrible memories. In 2005 my wife and I bought a 256mb SD card for our terribly overpriced digital camera and they were still $50+. It wasn’t until later that year that the prices started really coming down. And at the time we thought we were getting a killer deal by replacing our 64mb that we had bought the year before for around the same price.
I spent ~$200 for a 2gb usb stick in 2004. I was in uni at the time and thought it was definitely worth the price. until all my friends started buying portable hdds later that year for the same price.
Our 1st PC was a TRS-80 for ~ $1,200. Had a whopping 4K memory and the only ‘drive’ was a cassette tape deck!
Man, it just hurts to remember when I bought my first USB flash memory… 256 MB of data for ~$120 dollars… What a deal!!!
