while i do agree, i don’t believe that colorblind people, of any race, should cosplay…because nothing’s sadder than a grey link or poison ivy.
Making new friends? Bah! Cosplay is all about the COSTUMES!
I believe this is a response to the article (well worth a read) at http://www.xojane.com/issues/mad-back-cosplayer-chaka-cumberbatch.
Because she is of a darker colour she is often told that she’s done well “for a black girl” or even that she shouldn’t be cosplaying certain characters.
If that was the case, then no white person should cosplay anyone from an anime!
You hit the nail on the head! What really gets me is the response this: “But anime character have round eyes and are white!!!” I just wanna shake ‘em. Read up on your cartoon history ya hosers!
