Ever been playing chess and thought, “You know what this game needs? A THIRD player!”
Me neither.

how does the middle of the board work??
^ This.
I looks like it would work like the edges of the chess board do now, not that I can see playing it.
This would be the most terrible game to play, ever, because each player would just want the opponents to kill themselves. And how would one player get eliminated anyway? Get checkmated and then have to remove all his pieces?

Sheldon did.
Now, if we can just combine this, with 3-D chess from Star Trek, we can reach levels of geekiness heretofore undreamt of!!
ive played 4 person chess before..it was pretty brutal
So I'm guessing the person that designed this board never learned the rules of Chess given that the rooks are all adjacent to one another and will be the first pieces lost in any game. I'd rather play fairy chess.
Flawed in that side by side opponent rooks would completely skew the play, there's a reason for starting at opposite sides of the board and castling would be redundant.
There is a dividing line in between rooks, maybe a "wall"?
