According to entertainment magazine Variety, DC has been working on getting their powerhouse superhero team to the big screen. The rumor is newcomer Will Beall has been hired to draft up the screen play. His work includes several episodes of Castle and a film about the Mafia versus the LAPD to debut this year.
After Avengers dominated the box office, it’s no surprise DC will want a hand at that. Green Lantern and the Superman reboot were considered a flop by many fans, with Nolan’s Batman franchise being the only comic film in recent memory that has had success for the company and their parent, Warner Bros.
There’s a lot to be excited about for a Justice League movie. Having a relative unknown work on the script is a risky move. I am really curious to see the short list of directors on tap for the project.

I would like to see these guys, but I can’t decide on characters like Martian Manhunter and Batman. I think Bale is good, but it’s time to pass the cowl.

Filion would be great as GL, but I'd go with Michael Rosenbaum as the Flash
Nice list, although I agree– Rosenbaum > NPH for Flash.
And how 'bout Josh Holloway as Green Arrow? He'd make a nice, smart-ass counter to Bale's Dourly Dark Knight.

DC has no continuity, so really they could put anyone at all into it, and just write it off as being another reality-reset.

I don't want to see it made until they can prove they're capable of putting together a non-Batman movie that's worth watching. A lot of things needed to go right for Avengers to work out as well as it did, and apparently they were very careful and deliberate about it. Good for them. Meanwhile, WB seems to be putting the cart before the horse again and, sadly, missing the point. Very aggravating.
This. If DC is saying "Let's do a Justice League" film because Avengers did so well, they're taking the wrong approach and will probably end up botching the film. Justice League ought to stand on its own and the heroes each need to stand on their own. Avengers had several years of hero films running up to it with Iron Man 1 and each film and their respective heroes were able to stand on their own and become greats hits in their own right.
And to be honest, I don't think anyone can do a Superman movie without the audience taking him seriously… >.>
