Using only a 3D printer, researcher Jim Scanlan from the University of Southampton has created a fully functional plane. Even moving parts were created using the printer, all in one go.
can't wait until they start printing the electronics into the parts themselves along with the printing of meta-materials for say decreased drag co-efficiency, entire plane antenna, or what ever you could come up with for what you're building. when that happens we'll no longer need to go to the store, but just print our products all at home. ahhhh the future :^)
