Portal 2 Cocktails

----------------

If you’ve ever wondered about how the science behind creating portals works, just take a few of these portal 2 shots and everything will be made clear!

The Portal Two (Portal 2 cocktails)

Ingredients:

  • Blue Curacao
  • Vodka
  • Lemonade
  • Cointreau
  • Rum
  • Orangina
  • Small tumblers

Directions: “This drink is, of course, designed to resemble the two coloured portals from the excellent sci-fi puzzle game. For the blue version, get a small tumbler and pour in 10ml of Blue Curacao, 10ml of vodka and top up with lemonade. For orange you’ll need another tumbler, this time filled with 10ml of Cointreau, 10ml of rum and Orangina. If you fancy, you can jazz the glasses up with coloured sugar rims. Simply pour some sugar into a sandwich bag with the relevant food colouring, shake them up, pour the resulting mix into a dish and dip your tumbler in.

  1. This looks awesome! Thanks for the recipe! For those of us that are not in/on the UK/Europe/metric system, this comes out to about a 1oz shot. The US shot is about 44mL, or 1.5 oz. Here’s your translation:

Blue version: Fill a 2oz (tall) shot glass with about 1/3 Blue Curacao, 1/3 vodka, and 1/3 lemonade, leaving room at the top of the shot glass for a sugar rim. (By 1/3, fill 1/3 of the glass, not 1/3 of an oz. Eyeballing it should give you the right measurement.)

Orange version: Fill a 2oz (tall) shot glass with about 1/3 Cointreau, 1/3 rum, and 1/3 Orange Crush soda, again leaving room at the top of the shot glass for a sugar rim.

If you like, you can jazz the shot glasses up with colored sugar rims. Simply pour some sugar into a sandwich bag with either blue or orange food coloring, shake them up, and pour the resulting mix into a dish. Important: Squeeze lemon juice into a separate dish first, dip the rim of the shotglass into the juice, then into your colored sugar. This extra step ensures a nice sugared rim.
