Joseph DeMarco’s Awesome Star Wars Pinup Pictures

----------------

Professional photographer Joseph DeMarco recently released this series of awesome Star Wars-themed pinup pictures, and I must say, I never felt the urge of joining a fictional organisation so bad!

I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a child, and I have always been a fan of WWII recruitment posters and propaganda. I had seen the images created by various artists merging the two, and wondered why no one had ever thought to do photo versions. It was then I realized that I could be that person!

Thanks Joseph!!

  1. I know I'll be in the heavy minority here, but these types of things always make my eyes bleed a little bit. It has nothing to do with the women; it's because the outfits (generally) have next to nothing to do with STAR WARS. I could slap a Rebel logo on a business casual outfit, put on a pouty face, and 11 pics later, boom, I've got a calendar. No one would buy it because I'm a doughy dude instead of a hot mama, but that's sort of my point.
Maybe I'm wrong and these ladies know SW inside and out, but it feels like the airhead booth babe who doesn't even know the name of the character she's dressed up as.
I'm far happier when I see this: http://www.dorkly.com/picture/16883/female-imperihttp://omgcomicgirls.tumblr.com/post/1576675855/j

I welcome your flame and down votes. :D

    • Well, as the photographer, I can assure you that I am a HUGE Star Wars fan.

What it comes down to are two simple things:

First being money. I simply can't afford amour, latex, or a lot of other material. I did this entirely on my own, with my own savings account. It was done as a labor of love, and a passion project that I wanted to see through to completion. I bought most of the pieces myself and doctored them as best I could. I am very pleased with how they came out.

Second was design. I wanted to do "pin up" versions of the costumes – not recreate them. I've seen plenty of versions of these outfits before. I wanted to try my hand at creating my own take. Maybe it didn't work for you, but this was exactly what I had envisioned when I started this project.

I can assure you of two things – this was done with a LOT of passion, and those models know Star Wars pretty well.

Very cool, glad to be proven wrong. Still not my thing, but it's especially good to know they're fans.
        Cheers.

      • i am down with the more serious cosplayers and i am down with the pinups as well. i love the photography, the costuming, and i love the beautiful women, who are sometimes beautiful by nature, and sometimes beautiful by their passion, and sometimes beautiful by both – i can straddle the two worlds which joey and PJS may or may not inhabit.

also, this woman: http://www.joeydemarco.net/Portraits/Themed-Shoot… , is the single best thing that ever occurred in the universe, so dont hate, celebrate.

  2. I honestly haven't watched Star Wars in about ten years so please forgive if I don't know who is dressed up relative to what character but the dark skinned girl with the Black stormtrooper looking outfit is gorgeous and has a very beautiful smile.
@joeydemarco I believe you did a fantastic job with the photography! I probably prefer the photos where the girls aren't aiming for the seductive look but it's a very attractive range of poses and body language you've captured.
