9 out of 10…good enough
Offline Minecraft! Internet was down for 2 days during an ice storm last year. Played the heck out of some minecraft and Bulletstorm on PS3.
who has a landline anymore? Most likely its running through your internet so you will need to use your cell :)
My cell (Evo3D) offers internet access on its screen and as a modem, should (God forbid) my 20Mbit connection go down (happened for 30 minutes once in the last 2 years).
You forgot…call, page, text, fb, tweet, ping, bbm your local IT guy a thousand times to ask him to fix it.
Read a book?
Preferably an eBook, because I'm not really into going cold turkey…
yep!
I am definitely a combination of asking God ‘Why me!?’ and repeatedly clicking refresh!
This must be a horrific nightmare for wow players, lol!
You have NO IDEA!
I do offline stuff like write stories and play games.
Sometimes my net break for some hours/days.
I have two main weapon in my posession:
1. ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew
2. plug off the modem and then back after a couple of minutes
3. plug off the router and then back after a couple of minutes…

4. call internet provider and ask what the hack…
… damn it…
Scream one long scream to the sky for 42.35 seconds, curl up in a ball, suck my thumb and roll on the floor back and forth while saying "It's ssso, empty."
I take a nap usually…
Refresh, and if that doesn't work, sleep.
i usually click refresh alot but eventually give up and bake so i guess that donut one or read haha
Quick hard reset of modem and router. If that doesn't work, I just play single-player video games.
I attempt to put my body into stand-by until its back.
…then I remember I'm not an andriod and cry a little.
They forgot to mention, by the time the internet comes back up, your house will be spotless.
So true!
Is it pedantic to point out that the Internet stays up, it's just your connection to it that becomes unavailable? It always bothers me when people say "my Internet is down" – I usually say "wow, you have your own Internet? I just connect to the one the rest of the world uses."
that is why i wish Diablo 3 has single player offline mode, because I always start a new character and rush to kill blood raven at the lowest level possible.
Laundry. Well, sometimes. Mostly I just start typing things on a document that I'd normally type into a post editor.
Hold your modem while you scream F*** this B**** D:<
Why was "Snapping one off" not listed?
That's what either a smartphone or a book is for. As long as I have cell signal, I have full internet on my phone. If the towers are down because of a disaster ( like the huge SoCal windstorm we had last winter, only two blocks in the whole city even had power and mine was one of them) then I read a book, or havens forbid, actually talk to my family. I'm a shameless WoW addict, but I have plenty of fantasy fiction to tide me over. If that somehow gets boring, there's always tabletop rpg. That's what geeks DID before internet access was constant…
For me it would be in this order
Refresh
Rant at ISP
Eat Donuts
Sort through the backlog of crap I've dl'ed to my HD since the last time the 'net went down.
I personally have copied some of my favorite fanfics into text files so when the Internet goes down I read them and do a lot of work on my own stories.
